ChitChatX is a free online group chat website. Visitors join chat rooms as guests with no registration, no email address and no password; each guest receives a random name they can change. Public rooms include India Chat, the English Chat Room, the Singles Chat Room, the Russian Chat Room, the Iranian Chat Room and Toons Chat. Rooms support live messages, replies, mentions, reactions, GIFs and file sharing, and registered members can also send private messages. ChitChatX works in a mobile browser, can be installed as a web app, and offers dark mode. It is a small, moderated chat site; rooms are usually busiest in the evening, India time.

Free Online Chat Rooms. No Registration. No Nonsense.

You know that moment when a site asks you to create an account, verify an email and invent a password with a symbol in it — just to say hello? We skipped all of that. Open a room, take the guest name you're given (or change it to something less ridiculous), and talk. That's the whole joining process.

No email. No password. Nobody will spam you later, we don't even know who you are.

Rooms wake up after dinner, India time. 8–10pm IST is when this place feels alive — that's the best time for a first visit.

Pick a room. Any room. Start there.

  • India Chat — After-dinner India, on your phone. Hindi and English mixed the way people actually talk, old songs, cricket scores, and an argument about street food that has been running since approximately forever.
  • English Chat Room — The general room, and the easiest first door to walk through. Whoever's awake, wherever they are — night-shift people, insomniacs, someone on their first coffee on the other side of the world.
  • Singles Chat Room — For grown-ups. Conversation first, a bit of light flirting if it's mutual, and a no that gets respected the first time. It's a chat room, not a dating app, and nobody's promising you a wedding.
  • Russian Chat Room — For Russian speakers and the Russian-speaking diaspora — come and talk in your own language for a while.
  • Iranian Chat Room — A room for Persian speakers, at home or abroad, who'd rather chat in their own words.
  • Toons Chat — Cartoons, animation and the shows you grew up on. Nostalgia welcome, obscure references encouraged.

How it works

Open a room and you're given a random guest name. Read for a bit if you like — lurking is allowed, nobody announces you — then say something small. A question works better than a greeting; ask people to settle chai versus coffee and watch what happens. If you keep coming back and want the name to stay yours, register later. An account also unlocks private messages and a friends list. Later. Only if you want to.

SAFE, WITHOUT THE LECTURE

Your guest name keeps you anonymous, but only if you let it — don't hand out your number or your real accounts to someone you met four minutes ago. Rooms are moderated, the report button reaches an actual person, and anyone who won't take a hint gets shown the door. Longer, boringer version: read our safety guide before your first late-night session.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ACTUALLY ASK

Is ChitChatX really free?

Yes. Guest chat costs nothing and there's no trial clock running. Registered accounts are free too.

Do I need to register or give an email?

No. Guests chat with a random name and no email at all. Register only if you want to keep your name and use private messages.

When are the rooms busy?

Honestly? Evenings, India time — roughly 8 to 10pm IST is the sweet spot. Daytime can be quiet. We're a small site and we'd rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.

Is it safe to talk to strangers here?

Rooms are moderated and you stay anonymous behind your guest name. Keep personal details — phone number, address, other accounts — to yourself, use block and report freely, and you'll be fine.

About, in short

ChitChatX is a small chat site run by actual humans who still believe the best part of the old internet was talking to strangers about nothing in particular. No feed, no algorithm deciding who you meet, no points for performing. Just rooms, people, and whatever tonight's argument turns out to be.

Come by after dinner. Bring a question people can't resist answering badly.
